Can you obtain a license to sell life and health insurance if you have a misdemeanor but no felonies in the past 10 years?

I was not convicted and just charged. I was given a check from an ex who then got jealous of my new marriage and told the police that I stole the check and cashed it. Originally it was a felony, however when her signature was matched they knew she lied. The messed up thing is the prosecutors wouldn't drop it. Instead they lowered it to a misdemeanor and called it possession of a faulty/bad check.

I was charged, not convicted, with a misdemeanor
it is listed as possession of a bad check. Another words. I received a check, cashed it and then got accused of stealing the check and filling it out myself. I need to know if this would affect me getting my 215 insurance license. Thank you.

Howdy peeps, I have a Misdemeanor from the year 2000 for giving a chum a discount on some merchandise for $200. I got nailed for petty theft. I worked at a store. Would this bad decision cause a denial in an insurance license bid?
I have been steadily employed for 15 years but want a career change.

Probably not, but it's the decision of the Director of the Dept of Insurance.

I have two misdemeanor charges. One is failure to return rental property and the other is worthless check. Neither one of those charges I committed, but since it was my name on it, I had to take the wrap for it. Will that affect me in getting my license in NC

"Charges" or "Convictions"? There is a difference. If you were never "convicted" there is nothing to worry about at all.

But if you were convicted, why would you "take the wrap" [sic] for something you did not do?

Neither offense is a felony, so that part's not much of an issue. As misdemeanors, however, they could be of concern to the insurance regulator in your state. Most likely, it won't be a problem.

I had a few small misdemeanors from over 10 years ago and was honest on my application. I got my P&c license. You just need to be honest and show the board how you have changed your life.

Hi -
Just got recently offered a new job at a major insurance company to do insurance sales. Just passed the background and drug screening with flying colors.

I didn't realize that the job required obtaining a state license. I have to get licensed within 45 days of employment. About 20 years ago (college) days, I pled no contest to a misdeamenor lewd conduct and was given 6 months probation. If memory serves me well, I got it expunged and sealed a year after. One of those mistakes I truly regret...

Now, I start in two weeks. Don't know what I should do. I don't want to lose my job if I don't get a li
