I have my P&C licence. I have worked for an indepent agent agent for about three months. I now want to start my own buisness. How do I go about obtaining my buissness licence in Arizona. Do I need a s corperation, a c corperation or a llc? What is getting bonded and how do I go about it?

Hi,

Why don't you go through the Insurance pre-license course in Arizona. This course is a virtual training that would educate you about property & casualty licensing as well as Life & health adjusters. This would expose you to online tests for a variety of subjects, offers informative feedbacks, intensive scope for practice before you go out to sit for the exams.

Thanks,

Hello there and welcome to the forum:

I have my P&C licence.

Thats good, but is there a reason that you didnt keep gpoing and get the life and health? What about a series 6 and 63??
What do you want your focus to be?? Thats what you really must decide, because the insurance business is so diverse, you can go into one line of insurance, or multiple lines if you want to.

I have worked for an indepent agent agent for about three months.

This is good, how much did you pickup in 3 months? Was this your first experience as a producer? Was 3 months enough experience for you to get out there on your own?? How much experience does the agency you currently work for have?

You dont have to answer all these questions, but just ask them to yourself. Sometimes we can look at what someone else is doing and if they have a lot of experience , they can actually make it look a lot easier than it really is. Then we can get an unrealistic perception of the situation and get carried away.

I think if you are really serious about doing this, then you should give yourself a little more time under this other agency.just to get a view of the total picture. Unless you are a super quick learner, I dont think 3 months is enough time to really have gotten a grasp on what he or she is really doing. Give yourself at least anothe 3 months, and if you dont think that you are learning enough under this agent, go to another one that is doing a little better and absorb everything that you can. After looking a little more into it, you may actually just want to work from home, using the internet as your source of generating business.

Best of luck to you
