Right now, I'm 18 and I don't have any health problems, and there is no history in my family of things like cancer and anything like that. But I'm wondering what age I should look into getting health insurance at, any ideas?

Do you think it would be good to look for insurance AFTER something happened? Thats the whole purpose of insurance is to protect you at a time that you need it the most.

.

This may be so , but who will foot the bill if you are injured, or break a limb? Emergency room visits can be quite costly. Even for a one or two hour stay. Also consider the fact that there are a variety of viruses going around that can cause you serios problems.

So there are more things to consider than heredity. If nothing has happened until now, count it a blessing, but if you can find it in your budget, please buy yourself some health insurance.

Hope this helps

Alright, thanks knig, it's the heredity things I'm actually worried about, I'm not in much close-contact with people and I work from home, so yeah, I haven't caught a virus is years.

I'll look into it, thanks again for the advice.

Hello Quenlin, welcome to the ampminsure forums. Knig has already given you the right suggestion. Don't neglect the importance of health insurance for that you are young and have enjoyed good health so far. We take out insurance to protect ourselves from the unforeseen. Therefore, the health insurance will help you to stay covered if something happens (God forbid!) in the future.

Keep enjoying the good health.

Warm regards,
Carol

Thanks for the welcome, and I will be taking the advice. Only ailment I can see myself getting is carpel tunnel syndrome, I'm at this computer too often.
