Defensive driving courses - Are the courses really good?

I'm from Tennessee, 25 years old and I have a ticket now. Should I go for a defensive driving course? I'm not really sure of what these defensive driving schools have for us.

You can save a lot of money just by following traffic laws. I know that it has saved me thousands of dollars.

See, the laws are all the same for both the teenagers and the new drivers beyond 30 years of age. I've mostly seen teenagers pursuing such drivers' education course in order to obtain their Learner's permit. At the same time, I feel the driving tests would get you in a more comfortable position.

Defensive driving courses teach drivers to be cautious and be aware of their surroundings. They are also taught to follow the rules of the road and handle vehicles in the latest technique.

At the same time, I feel the driving tests would get you in a more comfortable position.
In case you'd manage to get in touch with a well-trained instructor it would be good for you. Under circumstances you don't feel comfortable, don't hesitate to express your feelings. I say this since you have the right to get the best of what you're paying for.

Some times it so happens that many of us wouldn't drive for years only to let go our driving skills. We could therefore pursue a defensive driving course to regain our confidence and skills. This would certainly help us to achieve better rates.
