MY father passed sunday the 3/17/2010 and stated in 2008 that he had a policy taht he been paying on. but when he was hospitalized he paperwork got missed place and I nothing to go off except his social security number, and last place of residence, date of birth.

You can use the MIB (medical information bureau) to search a possible in force policy. Looking for notices in his mail might also prove usefull.

You can also go to MissingMoney.com, a national database established to enable owners perform a comprehensive search for lost assets.
