Dealership stole CD's

Hello all, its been a while.
Quite few months ago I purchased a G6 from a reputable dealership. After having a few problems I stopped in to schedule a check-up. Believe it or not the car caught fire in the lot while I was there due to an electrical problem.
at this point I informed them that I wanted a different car because of the problems. Well they gave me a rental until I made my mind up for sure but in the mean time they were to work on fixing the car.
Here is the problem.I could not get any of my cd's that were in the six disc changer out due to the electrical problems. They told me they would hook the battery back up and get them out. I stopped in a few times and was told no one got them out yet. Finally I demanded they do it while I was there because i was tired of asking. Low and behold NO CD'S were in it.
They said maybe someone got them out and they were somewhere in the building. Week and a half later they car is sold and no cd's. I told them I knew 100% the CD's were in there (which they were).
so now I get to go in on Thurs. for paint touch ups and they told me we would deal with it then. Now is it their place to replace the cd's or value since I could not get them out and it was still my car when they were taken? I asked my insurance comp. and they was not sure. I believe they should be responsible and wondering what I can do.

I agree Trench, EXCEPT her's were stuck in the player, and they were made aware of this, and PROMISED to get them out and return them to her..

I don't blame you for being "pissed and disgusted". It's not really the AMOUNT that is on your mind, it's the priciple of the thing. It was YOUR property that was taken. I was in a similiar situation (not concerning CD's, however). It was just an expensive item that was taken of mine. However....it WAS TAKEN!!! Did you happen to document who you talked to, at the dealership and what time you talked to them? The cameras, that LORI said something about, is a great thought.

Well they did agree to pay for my cd's due to the fact I was unable to get them out. I only had to argue a little in the beginning. Once I called their attention to the fact that I could not get them out and that I was told they would be okay the dealership agreed to pay $75 for them. I am suppose to have a check mailed to me at the beginning of next week. I believe they will do so.

Glad to hear things worked out. At lease they listened to your side of the story 9finally?) and made amends with the problem.

Your Welcome!! I know it's frustrating when something of 'yours' is missing (for whatever reason..) and no one seems to take 'your' claim seriously. WHATVER items, of 'yours' is missing, it's 'priceless' to you!!

Thanks. I am glad they are giving me the value. I will replace my cd's with the money. I really am surprised it turned out this easy since I had a few problems in the past. I never really lost my temper with the dealership in the past and have always tried to work with them.
One time they had my car in to fix the lighted visor and were suppose to have it done in under an hour. I had an appointment that day in town (took me a few weeks to get in to this appointment) and even scheduled two hours earlier than my appointment to give them almost double the time to work on it. Well to make a long story short it was almost time for my doc. appointment and a nice lady in the garage (she worked there) offered to give me a ride. Someone else was suppose to pick me up when I called. When I did NO ONE was available so I had to walk back in the freezing cold almost two miles to the dealership to get my car!
Thats just one of the problems I had, and continued to hold my composure.
