My 1997 Chevy truck (regular cab, manual everything, AC,Tilt) was stolen from my house in Illinois and found burned and beaten beyond repair in Illinois. :x Truck was no gem, some dents, 290,000 miles, but it ran great.
I don’t have full coverage through Progresive but it covers theft and damage. Approximately how much will I get back?

So I'm assuming you mean you have comprehensive coverage...(would be the only coverage that would apply)...Understand that they will most likely have to run a credir report and all kinds of paperwork prior to any payment (standard on total thefts, and burns)..If it was burned and beaten, thats a good thing for you because they won't be able to tell much about condition :wink:
Need to know the following about your truck before I can even guess...I assume it's a half ton right? Does it have the following: 4WD, 6cyl, 7.4l v8, alumn/alloy wheels (or steel), silverado package,sport or fleetside, (flares or not), diesel engine, cruise, auto tranny?
Approximately how much will I get back?

That's the reason why I'm still wondering about the adjuster's next move! Will knowing all these really help you get a hint of it's pre-damage condition? How do the adjusters proceed under such circumstances?

They will assume it's of average condition, and determine the ACV based on that

Your truck, although previously in running condition, was 13-14 years old. It's probably not worth more than $1000-$2000. If they offer that much or more, you should probably accept the offer.
Arguing that because "it ran great" it's worth more money is pointless. Grandma might be able to run a 100-yard dash in 45 seconds, pretty "great" for an old lady. But how much is she really worth at age 80 (about 14 in truck years)?
