Is mediation a good thing in resolving a insurance claim disagreement? How much does it cost? Do insurance companies ever accept mediation? What is the process? A few individuals say it a easy and non expensive way to put a side the disagreement? What kind of cases do mediation work? When would it be a good time for the claimant or attorney to ask for mediation? Are there any pros and cons? Who is present at the mediation? What kind of disputes can be best resolve by mediation? This ? I'm going to ask has nothing to do with mediation, but have any ever heard of cybersettle? I believe the people who came up with this is good. What is your say on this? If you never heard of it i think it is cybersettle.com
You never mention _what type of claim it is_. Knowing this would make a big difference.
Cybersettle is an online system that parties can use in order to settle injury claims (at lease that's all I ever say it used for). It takes the place of a mediator in that it does not reveal each parties offers/demands unless the two amounts agree.
I agree with tcope, a bit background of the kind of claim would have helped us to be more precise with our responses. However, let me present before you a generalized view.

Yes, it is....before moving to the court, which may get taxing for both the parties involved, you can try to resolve the dispute through mediation and arbitration.
Mediation is a more lenient form of claim settlement in compare to the arbitration process. And also less expensive.
In case of mediation process, a trained professional mediator, will mediate between the two disputing parties.
However, while the ruling given during the arbitration process is binding, the decision made in the mediation process is only advisory, and the disputing parties are responsible for enforcing the decision made in the mediation process.
When would it be a good time for the claimant or attorney to ask for mediation?
Normally, when there is a dispute between you and the insurance company. And, you are not happy with the amount offered to you, but the insurance company seems to be interested in settling the claim fast.
Again, when you think your demand is legit and have the documents to support you case. _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved.
Keep in mind that a mediator does not tell people what they should offer, demand or settle for. Usually both parties submit a written report to the mediator prior and then during the start of the mediation, offer oral information. The parties then separate and the mediator goes back and forth to each party in an effort to get them to increase offers and decrease demands. A good mediator will know how to push the parties into settling. If the parties come to an agreement, they sign paperwork to settle the claim. If they can't settle, they walk away.
Each party usually pays their portion of the cost of medication.
