Users in the community have put forth their views about the company. Some seem to be unhappy with the way they handle commissions and advancements when it comes to play as an employer.

Complaints against Senior Health Care Consultants:

Agents are particularly dissatisfied with the way they lay out their daily work. According to them they:
  • Put too much pressure on agents to meet sales targets.
  • Set immense targets for the agents.
  • They are not planned in their working.
  • They have also earned the reputation being the worst payer in the industry.

Wow!!! I'm glad I'm reading all this. No one should ever pay to work for a company or pay for any kind of training. Along with them having access to your bank account. I feel bad for many of you people that got screwed. Thanks for sharing your experience. I just saved myself some time. Best of luck.

I actually went as far as planning my trip to Texas for the training. I then saw the non-compete clause in the massive contract paper work. Never go with a company that has the right to tie up your license. Just a heads up folks :(

is it common for insurance companies to have a non-compete clause in thier contracts?

To be precise, it's usually the general agent (Richard Dale Jr. in this case), not the insurer, who insists upon a non-compete agreement. It's common that general agents with a bad reputation and/or a ton of turnover in their organizations demand a NCA from prospective agents. SHC has taken this a step further and demands licensed agents to pay several hundred dollars more for an entrance fee because, by their own admission, experienced/currently licensed agents have a poorer success rate in their system (read: they can smell a rat faster, and know what pay to expect rather than the pittance they would receive for identical business with SHC).

Apparently some lawyers are starting to do feasibility studies on a class action lawsuit for fraud and deceptive practices by SHC and RJR. I've been called by two different firms now and I really hope one of them starts action soon. It's long overdue. These clowns need to be put out of business for good.

Best advice is to RUN the other way and DON'T LOOK BACK!!!

I worked for this cowboy outfit (perhaps thats why they are based in Texas) and my advice is run away as fast as you can from the recruiter, do not pay them a penny. Any company that wants $599 up front to recruit you is not worth bothering with.

On average an agent who wants to join them is out of pocket straight away for about $1500, they admit that they run a revolving door with 33% coming in 33% that are there and the rest are on the way out. If you want to build a career on that go for it.

They make money from recruiting heavily and losing agents, everyway SHC makes money either from the consultant or clients.

ANYBODY READING THIS DO NOT JOIN THIS COMPANY EVEN IF YOUR LIFE DEPENDED ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This company is in a heap of legal problems for not paying commissions owed and all sorts of other business violations. Run away - you will never be paid!

Need i say more. Hold out for something professional. If it sounds too good to be true, it is. Plus, they do not tell you how it is up front... LOTs of unfortunate surprises!
