You have to take up the licensing course, which would be of 40 hrs to obtain the license. Upon successful completion of the course you would become eligible to sell insurance in your state.

Hey Janice, I've found some old discussion on the forum on the same issue as yours, I'm proving the links below for your convenience. Hope you'll find these helpful..
You have to take the pre-licensing course for the type of insurance you wish to provide:
Life (includes annuities)
Health
Medicare Supplement (includes long term care, must have health license first)
Property and casualty.
You then have to take and pass the state exam.
I strongly reccomend John Quick for the pre licensing courses. He does it from a classroom setting in Raliegh.
