Well, things may look different from different perspectives. An agent would prefer a company that will offer him/her maximum number of policy options to offer his/her client. The remuneration or commissions are also an important determinant in this aspect.
On the other hand, the consumer will prefer a company that will offer better coverage at low cost.

Correctly so! I personally have experienced people opinionating differently about the same company. I was in search of auto coverage for my teen daughter, when one of my close friend and my brother-in-law both suggested me two different companies for the same purpose. It had confused me a lot. However, I agree that cost shouldn't remain the one and the only deciding factor. You may not get what's best for you at the best price always, and one's life is more important than the nickels that you may save on the cheap coverage.

Hey, at the wake of the financial crisis, I think its also important to check the financial solidity of the insurance company. Check the company's financial record and past claim payment history before accepting the proposal.

i completely agree with playful mom in this opinion.there is nothing as good or bad,but what kind of service one get from the official person of any company do have impact on the customer's mind.
secondly some company are sector specific say for that matter those only working for senior citizen then these types of companies will definately of no use for young guys then it's quiet obvious that this company will be bad for young chap but still it is the best company for that senior citizen.
So in conclusion not the company but rather the need for service & persons working for the company do define the tag whether this company is good or bad.

Thank you for your post, however I was meaning from an agents point of view, not the consumer. What companies do the agents have the least problems with.

The problem is there is no simple answer. A lot of it has to do with your brokers (or yours if you go direct) relationship with the carriers. It also has to do with the volume of business that the carrier is currently processing. If they are overloaded then things will take more time and be more pron to errors.

It is a tough question to answer I guess. Unless a person has been agent with different carriers, probably he or she may have some clues which company is easiest to deal with.
Another way to find out is to check with independent agents who may render their views or offer some advice.

Hey Dunkin
I will give you a rundow of my carriers
BCBS:
Pros: The big name brand-easy to sell on name recognition, great benefits, easy to track apps, great network.
Cons: Underwriting can take awhile, large yearly rate increases, re-assigns people to different risk categories (ugly), and does not pay well.
Assurant:
Pros: Pays very well and quickly, Easy to track apps, association group plan, two year rate lock in and health discout keep business with you longer, great network.
Cons: benefit levels are not the greatest, can be pricey.
United Healthcare:
Pros: Easy to track apps, good pricing level, quick and easier underwriting.
Cons: Smaller network, riders out pre-existing conditions, benefit levels not the greatest.
Coventry:
Pros: The best value in benefits and pricing, simple to explain and sell. Low yearly rate increases.
Cons: Smaller network, tight underwriting, and can be a real pain to track apps and takes a good while to get paid. (I sell a lot of this anyway because it is the best plan for my clients if their doctors are in network)
I don't yet sell humanna because their network is really small here, but their pricing seems to be really decent.

There are a lot of good companies out there to choose from.
I am an IMO, so I'm bias to my companies.
Check out my website to learn the companies that I use and market for.

Someone asked the question above: ..which is more important? Life or Health? Well...........my personal opionion is Life Insurance. Now that my son is 16 now, I'm really looking into something that will help in that 'time of nee'. ESPECIALLY...me being in the Military. yes...I DO have Life Insurance, through the Military,..however, I guess I'm looking for something 'extra'.
