how to get appointments? by telephone call, go to see the client, whenever meet with ourfriends, relatives, or the persons we meet everyday like vegetables seller, meat seller, shopkeeper

There are lots of ways to get appointments. It is getting harder and harder to do that on the phone but it can be done. You should let people you deal with know what you do and tell them that you are available. Be careful not to be too pushy though for obvious reasons
Always let your clients know that you accept and appreciate referrals. The sooner you start getting the referrals the better. Referred leads are much easier to book an appointment with.
I suggest that you learn as much as you can about sales and find techniques that work for you.

Referrals are always the best. Get into the habit of asking for referrrals even if it is a prospect. A prospect might say 'no' but they still might give you a referral if you ask.

you may apply any and all of the above mentioned policies in order to get appointments and should also keep on inventing new techniques of generating appointments since its becoming harder with each passing day.

Very true. I am finding that even calling on past clients is getting difficult these days. No one wants to answer their phone anymore.

I use direct mail campaings, My main focus is on final expense life insurance. I usually take the reply card in hand, go knock on their door, start a conversation by showing that they requested information. It is although a little bit expensive way to get clients, but It works.

I would go back into your old database first and after that buying leads works. We buy $10 leads and close around 30%. After you close one piece of business referrals start to fly in. Good luck.

Scott has a good idea by going to the person's house. Whenever I get a referral from a client, I usually go to the referral's house with a signed letter from the client just to introduce myself. It really gets your foot in the door, literally!
