I have 10 years retail car industry. Over the years I have gained a tremendous amount of personal and business contacts and I would like to earn a minimum of 100,000 dollars my first year. I don't mind the long hours and hard work. I am looking to make a business for myself and build a financial career on my abilities and enjoy life in 5-10 years with my renewal income

you will likely, face problems. If I were you I would try to have my record Expunged. An expunged record reqwest is submitte, to the Dstrict Atturney's office where the crime was prosceutited. If you have been clean and not on probation or parolle for at least three years and this was not a superserious offense (murder, rape, etc) the DA will most likely grant this. Once granted you no longer have a legal record of the crime on a criminal record report. You can legellay state that you have no record.

You can have an atturney do this or in some states you can have it done much cheaper by a paralegal; in any case it should be under $250.00. This expense will be well worth it.

Good luck!

Thinking about career change. Considering becoming an agent but have no idea what direction or what company to go with. I have several years of experience in sales, management, and running my own business.

We are looking into an agency but would like to know how much we would need to get this started the proper way.

Are you an EXPERIENCED licensed agent? If not, you have almost no chance of success on your own. P&C Insurance companies will not appoint inexperienced agents, and even those of us with experience cannot get appointed with most companies if we have no "book of business" to offer them in return.

On the life-annuities-health-disability income side, things are much easier. Just get licensed, rent an office, get appointed, and you have an "agency". Without experience, however, it will still be a challenge to succeed.

I want to know what do I need to do to become an Allstate Insurance agent; what certificates do I need? Does Allstate provide classes for certification?

It seems you don't have the required licensing. You have to get the required license first from your state's licensing authority. If you are starting as a captive agent to learn the industry, you should have considered Liberty Mutual.
