Hi,

I was wondering why we suddenly have such a big decrease in the number of posts in the Pub section, of late. Somebody correct me please if I am wrong.

Thanks,
Andy

Well Andy, I think you know exactly why  ...the pub posts are no longer paid, and some participants in the community apparently don't want to post where they are not paid....simple as that....I personally have no problem posting here regardless of that fact, if the thread is of interest to me, but others apparently don't see it that way, or more likely just not threads some of them are interested in.....

We are all spoiled. If we don't get "instant gratification" we just don't want it. If we get placed on hold for 45 seconds, we just get mad and hang up, like we're really hurting someone or something.

If our web pages doesn't open in 2 seconds, we click on something else.

If we don't make $45.00 for a post in the community, we don't post!

Just for a moment, I would like for every member of this community to focus on the "big picture".

If you came to this Insurance Forum Community to make your house payment, it may take a while.

The plans for this Community are fantastic, and you'll just have to trust me on that. Here's what every member needs to do:

(1) Write "meaningful" posts that contain information related to insurance in some form - it could be insurance experiences, insurance questions, insurance facts, insurance news, etc. Why? Because when Google or MSN or Yahoo sees these posts, they are all looking for the term "insurance" and every time they find it, guess what, the entire community climbs in search engine rankings. Our posts need to be "original" content.
What point is there in going to someone else's web site or blog and doing the ole' "copy" and "paste" job. The Admin people here at ampminsure.org check our content and if they find the same exact content somewhere else on the web, we don't get paid for that material and rightfully so.

(2) Start a blog - Why? Because it's FREE! It's hosted FREE! It's advertised FREE! When the search engine rankings climb for the community, they also climb for our blogs. When the rankings climb for our blogs, they climb for the community. It's a team effort.
We've even provided free blogging instructions -
http://blogging.ampminsure.org
If you don't understand the instructions, let me know and I will change them.
You will make more money using Google AdSense ads on your blog than you will on your posts, but combine that income with your posts.

(3) Become an Expert Guide. I maintain an insurance web site and it gets thousands of hits every single day. Why? Because people all over the country have insurance related issues every day. Professional looking Guide Sections also improves the search engine rankings of this community and our blogs.

So, here's my entire point. When this Insurance Forum Community becomes the "Premier" Insurance Forum, and it will, there will be a need for people, people like all of us. Can you somehow get a grasp of the "Big Picture"?

I hope so, and I will personally help any Member who asks for it.

I think the main reason is that people are not getting paid for it though, I have not had much time to come on myself, been working alot.

Great post Maze thanks....If you don't have the 'heart' for the community, then really, you aren't helping anyone...except yourself....we all want this community to grow, it's a great site, and contributes (in my opinion) a terrific service to the humans....

If you don't want to post in the pub because you're not getting paid...fine don't....personally I think the pub is a great, balancing area for the rest of the forum, and a place for us to gain more of a community spirit...get to know each other better etc....

I agree 100% Lori.

I, personally, had a very tough time actually accepting the "Pub" as a vital part of this insurance community. I just couldn't understand how "What You Did On Your Christmas Vacation" had anything to do with "insurance".
It of course, didn't!!

I can now better understand how a "New Member" can ease in to the forums through "The Pub".

I can understand how we can better get to know about one another and find out exactly what "buttons" to push and which ones to not touch.

The "Pub" is a good place and since we are just discussing "stuff", not insurance, why should we even expect to get paid?

We should be interested in seeing this Insurance Forum Community grow to be the "Forum of Choice" and the only way to do that is to talk about things related to "insurance" and for that, we will certainly get paid!

It's really not very difficult to understand.

True so true! Well said! Yes a lot of people do not post on here anymore, not because they are mad because they don't get paid so much as because they don't have time anymore.Lots of us know that we make time to do things that earn us money but tend to ease out of the things that don't .Well this is one of them, I'm afraid.I do all my posting in the forums that pay.I still come here and post but have not gotten any in my email since the pay has gone.Just found this thread by accident checking an old link to the pub in my email. I had decoded everyone had stopped posting on the pub.The pub is a great place for people to come get to know everyone and feel comfortable enough to trust our advice. Some people may think of questions as I do about insurance after they come to the pub.The pub is still a great part of the forum.

Sorry Lori, I did not realise that pub posts dont pay anymore! :( Anyways, I aint gonna stop posting in here. ;)

I agree with you all that the pub is indeed a great place to chillout and refresh. You make new friends too! Even I have made quite a few good friends over here. :)

InsuranceMaze (consider changing it to InsuranceAmaze!) your post was just amazing. Lets take an example of the Debt Forums, you would see tonnes of posts in the on-topic sections and the pub is pretty well fed too. I noticed that they also do not pay in the pubs. So my point is that we should not sit back and avoid this refreshing pub section. :)

Thanks,
Andy

Actually Andy, "Maze" is Native American for "corn", but thanks anyway.

BRAVO!

InsuranceMaze (consider changing it to InsuranceAmaze!)

What a nice compliment Andy...and I agree!

"Maze" is Native American for "corn"

I knew that of course, but didn't relate it to your screen name...I thought you meant it like, 'ins. is such a maze I'll help you thru it" type thing! See the Pub provides vital information !
So does this mean then that I can start calling you the 'corny ins. guy'?

Lori, this is actually the real reason I chose that name. One of my earlier company brochures had a jig saw puzzle on the front with the caption -
"Helping You Make The Pieces Fit".

Andy gave me a very nice compliment and I, like others, sometimes have a hard time dealing with compliments, so I just threw in the "corn"

So does this mean then that I can start calling you the 'corny ins. guy'?

If you like.
