Depends on the state where the accident happen. In most states your right to collect from the at fault party would not be changed. In a few states you would not be able to collect for property damage or injury claim (to a certain extent) if you don't have insurance (No pay-No Play). LA and CA are two of these.
While I don't agree 100% with it, it does have a bit of irony involved in it.

i don't know about ALL of the car insurance laws in PA, but,..I DO know this. Someone I know had an accident. Her radiator was smashed in and her frame was bent. however....she was NOT at fault. The OTHER driver was driving on the wrong side of the road. The woman, I know, received NOTHING ( money for damamge, etc) because she was not insured. She even had to pay a VERY heavy fine. Also..lost her license for a time.

Well that oughta learn her huh?
OP, ''most'' states you will still be allowed to collect for your damages, however that doesn't excuse your lack of responsiblity... and you still may face fines etc. from the state for your lack of insurance.

Well..I'll tell ya thins. I DON'T think she really learned from this. She is the type of person who blames everything that goes 'wrong' with her, on others ( ie..can't go to work because 'THEY' took her license. Can't pay her bills because 'THEY' won't give her transportation, etc.) So, of course, this 'incident' is EVERYONE else's fault.
