Is there anything I can do after the statute of limitations has run out? Or do I have any kind of leverage when dealing with the insurance company with a claim?

There is an extremely minute possibility that you'd still be able to file suit on this but the chances are _extremely_ unlikely. I doubt very much that the carrier would do anything at this point without a valid suit being filed.

Depends too...on a lot of ''if''s what is the claim? How old were you when it happened? How long ago, and what state?

It's extremely doubtful and only an attorney would be able to have an opinion on this and would need to know every little detail. Normally if the matter would need to be ongoing at the time the statute ran and if it was, the insurance company would usually let you know about the statute expiring. But even then, there is only a slim chance and a court would need to determine this.

I know in my state, and adjuster must inform (in writing) that the statue will run on such and such a date, (I think when it gets to within six months or so)...tcope is right...see an attorney...You didn't settle this already did you? Have you not had contact all this time with the injury adjuster?
