i ben in a car accident but the other person was taken to jail i dint get any insurance iformation from the guy what i can do please help?

Contact the police departement that arrested this person (the city the accident occured in) ask for a report, it might cost you a buck or two and might take a few days to get...All the information will be on it...or ask the police dept...if they will give you the drivers name/address/owner of the vehicles name/address (if different) and insurance company...Once you get the information contact their insurance company if they one...In the mean while contact your insurance company right now and tell them what has happened...They too will assist you in getting this information.

Once you notify your insurance co they should ask you basic info like where, when, who, how and you answer what you can and they should go and request the police report themselves so that you dont have to pay anything for it (sometimes you dont anyway). You pay your insurance co premiums so when an accident happens they do this work for you.

It does not matter that person went to jail or not.You can claim in the court against him for your money.

Hi Tushar, one has to file the claim with the insurance company of the responsible driver. Unfortunately, the court can't help the OP in this regard. However, if the driver is uninsured then the OP might have to sue the responsible motorist. Also, some states may impose certain restriction upon this as well.
Now, if the OP has uninsured motorist coverage she can then seek compensation under that if the at-fault driver is uninsured, which IMO is highly likely with this driver.
