My car is not insured. I seldom using it, so most of the time it's stay safe in my garage. So right now, I don't think it's necessary to apply for a car insurance.

But I'm considering in apply it, if you can assure me how it's necessary for me to apply for an auto insurance.

Is insurance/financial responsiblity required in your state? If so, why should anyone need to convince you that you need liability insurance? Question... how would you feel if someone hit _your_ car and did not have insurance? Well, that is how someone else is going to feel when you hit them! Also, if you hit someone and don't have insurance you will need to pay for their damage out of your pocket. Can't afford to pay a few thousand for property damage (not to mention an injury)? Well, some states allow a person's wages to be garnished or a lien placed on their property. How about if your in an accident, don't feel your 100% at fault but the other person's carrier does. Who's going to pay for your defense? Answer... either you are or they are going to steam roll right over you. How about when you get pulled over for whatever reason and the officer finds out you don't have insurance? Now your going to need to get insurance and go to court. Your going to have a boat load of fines on top of the cost or insurance and also your state my require an SR form... meaning you will need to show every year for several years that you have insurance... and trust me, that insurance premium is going to be _sky high_!

Some state wouldn't even allow you to register a car without proof of financial responsibility/insurance. So, you can fairly understand how important it's to have insurance on the vehicle. Even if you are not driving it regularly the chances remain that it may get stolen or some miscreant puts a scratch on it. Without insurance you'd then have to suffer the damage. Further, if you have a loan on the car the financier might not like the idea of having no insurance at all.

It only takes that one time you drive it onto the street and an accident happens that could change your whole life, whether you were the one at fault or not. Insurance will cover medical bills, property damage, lost wages, and possibly other important things. This of course depends on the state you live in and the type of coverages you buy, as I said it only take that one accident to change everything, and auto insurance will help make it a lot eaiser if it that accident ever happens.

To be honest with you, your insurance rates will probably drop if you add that car to your current policy. Insurance companies give huge discounts for adding additional vehicles to a policy. In fact, many drivers keep vehicles they don't drive or need anymore to save the money on auto insurance. You will pay very little additional money and you may even save money by adding the vehicle. Best of all, the vehicle will be covered even if you never use it. And by keeping it covered, you can drive it when you need to or drive it to keep it operating properly.

Juatong, adding a car would definitely add to your premium rate. The most you can get is a discount on the premium of the added vehicle. Additional vehicle wouldn't help the insured to save on his current rate. Why experts suggest the insured to add all the vehicles into one plan is that it would cost him less than what it would cost him to get a new policy of the additional car.

Okaaay Guys

You made me seems so careless for not having a car insurance for my vehicle. The next thing I want to do now is calling my insurance agent again. And I'm sure we gonna have a long discussion about this.

Thanks to all of you :)

There are times when some people add an additional car that the discount is more than the cost of insuring the car.

No matter how expensive if the car insurance, it is still worth to purchase. You wouldn't know when the bad day will come to your car, no one can predict the future, so better purchase it before it is too late. If you are the only one driving the car, then go for first party owner insurance, which will be cheaper than those third party owner policy.

Hope it helps! :)
