Whate are symbols 8 & 9, in the California Auto Insurance?

8 is Hired Autos only and 9 is Non-Owner Autos only... same for every state.

Auto insurers use these symbols to specify the coverage areas. The symbol ranges between 1 and 9, whereas 1 represents the liability section applicable to any motor.

Aimee, if you find the number 7 in the liability section of your plan, it'll imply that the coverage will strictly apply only to the vehicles listed in the policy and will exclude the others.
