Debris fell from a car in front of me and hit my car. the other driver didn't stop and I don't have his full license plate. Will my insurance pay and would my premium increase?

The insurer would certainly pay if you have either the uninsured motorist coverage or the collision coverage. Most insurers wouldn't increase the premium rate for a no-fault claim. Have you tried locating the other driver with whatever information you have on him?

Well, you may turn the claim to the insurer and wait for their response. They may like to organize an investigation before recognizing the claim. You might let us know which state you're from. It would help the members to understand the situation better.

:( :(

I am feeling sorry about the precarious condition you are going through

because you do not have legitimate proof to prove that it was situational

accident, but i don't think it will increase your premium if you are not in fault

at all. :rose: :rose: :rose:

Does a partial plate number help at all. What if a person had the partial plate number and a vehicle description? I would thin k that if enough damage was done the insurance company may see if there was a way to trace that partial plate and vehicle description.

UMPD yes, UMBI, no.

well jordan966 i think if you have a no fault policy, your auto insurance company will pay for the losses, regardless of who was at fault. However, there may be state variations. What kind of a policy do you have?

Yes with your UMPD coverage. If you are able to locate the other driver then your company would subrogate them.

would my premium increase?

No.
