Well, it would depend whether the claim is filed with your insurer or the other driver's insurer. In many cases of third party claim the insurer may write the check directly to the claimant. However, if it the claim involves your insurer, then they may directly make it to the collision centre/bodyshop.
Is it the other driver's insurer who is covering the damages?

Hi guest, do you have lien on the vehicle? since the insurer has to protect the interest of the lien holder, it may include the bodyshop's name on the claim check.
By the way, why do you want the check in your name? aren't you planning to repair the car? or, planning to get it repaired elsewhere? if its the other guy's insurance company who's writing the check you can tell them your preference. They may agree to it.

Requesting the supplement check to be sent to you is one thing. But keep in mind that your carrier would arrive at the amount to be sent to you using their estimation software. This software is meant to give them a fair measure of the repair works. So, this amount may also be different than the check they'd issue to the body shop.

Absolutely you can...just tell the adjuster, if it's a first party claim and you have a lein holder their name too will be on the draft.
