Yooh, details please.

I got hit,

I assume that the other vehicle involved in the accident was at-fault, right? Have you filed with his insurance company, or you have filed it against your carrier?

Is the car repairable?

Hi yooh_n_meeh_4evr,

Did you pay-off your loan?
I guess its your insurance carrier and hence they're paying it to the lien-holder. They'd pay up to the pay-off value. They are the real title-holder till the point of time you pay-off your loan.

we have a contract and I believe the payment should be sent directly to me.

Does your contract have any specifications regarding this?

The payment will only be sent to you if it is YOUR car. If they are sending it to the lien holder, it is because they own a portion of your vehicle (easy way to look at it anyway). There are a lot of people that think they are entitled to insurance money when they don't really own the vehicle!
