If I am listed as a resident on my parents homeowners insurance policy will their rates go up if I get a dui? They have auto insurance with the same company but I am not listed as a driver.

I can not see how one would effect the other being that they are two different types. This is just my personal opinion. Experts here may tell you it can.

I think that you are right Firey, the HO policy rate might not get affected for a household member getting DUI. Even I doubt that it would affect the rate of the auto insurance of his parents since he isn't listed on it. OP, your future auto policy rate would get affected by this event.
However, if you are driving the vehicle of your parents on a regular basis you should ask them to include you in their policy.

Should be ok, (maybe) do you have your own vehicle that is insured? What vehicle were you driving when you got the DUI?Add your comment
