Does the insurance underwriters/providers have a deadline to turn over to the state a lapse in auto insurance coverage on a client? In the state of Georgia? Does this process take more than one month?

I think that the insurers are required to inform the department of motor vehicle when a policy-holder cancels/drops a plan. However, not sure if there is any deadling specified. Also, the insurers aren't mandated by the law to inform the authority about the policy lapse.

I think what your asking is how long will it take a company to report that you don't have insurance on your vehicle. The company that I work for reports electronically to the state every Thursday.
Hope this helps.
