My husband took a job out of state about a month ago. Do we need to notify our carrier? We are planning to move there but don't want to be denied should there be a claim (god forbid) in the meantime.

The state rules may differ with one another. Go through the state doi norms and also get the right kind of coverage to protect both of you.

Certainly contact your agent and double check, but if he/you are not 'residents' of that state, your orginal policy should be fine without any changes as yet. Of course when you move you will need to change it.

All auto policys must conform to the state laws they drive in to. As an example MO is not a pip/no fault state, therefore I do not have pip coverage (not even available). But if I drive three miles into KS and have an accident KS laws apply and I would have the state miniums for PIP, (and any other required coverage).
