Okay, so I recently submitted the post "If my insurance company sold me a policy that I technically cannot have..." So going back a little, the whole reason I found out that I couldn't have this policy is because they "couldn't find my payment," I was really upset b/c without ins. I don't have a license. Called my agents' office to find a new company, he caught that I'm not allowed to have the policy. I called the company and told them I wanted my money back. Yada yada yada... So the day I found out I couldn't have this policy I called the ins. company and they confirmed that I shouldn't have it. When they had "lost" my payment, they had cancelled the policy, but said as soon as the payment was found, it would be reinstated. I told them they better not cash the check, nor reinstate the policy. Well guess what?....I just called the automated line and they DID reinstate it even after they confirmed that I'm not allowed to have the policy!!! I have to wait until the office opens to cuss them out, but I will definately keep those of you interested in this situation posted!!!!

I seriously feel that you need to file a complaint with the Department of Insurance of your state against the insurance company.

Sorry, but you left _so_ much of this information out of your initial post... and even in this thread I can tell a lot of information is still not being mentioned.
You stated in the prior post that your policy was cancelled because their were accessible vehicles in the household. Now you state that it was cancelled for non-payment. There is a difference. As stated, you mentioned that they would not allow the policy to stay in-force because their were vehicles in the household but now it appears that the policy is in-force. Perhaps your prior post was a little hasty. It would make more sense to me that whoever told you that the policy could not be kept due to the vehicles may have been incorrect.

I never said they cancelled the policy b/c of the vehicles. I tried to cancel the policy completely b/c I found out that I couldn't have the policy and when I brought it to their attention they confirmed that I was right. However, the day I told them to completely cancel the policy, they miraculously "found" my pmnt. and reinstated the policy that they agreed I should not have. I said that I am not allowed to have the policy, but it was not them that caught this, they just confirmed it and are still not handling this the way they should.
Bottom line, I spoke to the Division of Insurance again today. They are launching an investigation on the company and the agent. I also spoke with the agent that actually caught that this was the wrong policy for me and his company is also launching their own investigation into the matter and they expect that the agent from their company that initially started the policy will have a lot of answering to do and disciplnary actions are going to be taken.

Who are all the 'they's' we're talking about? is this in the agents office?I also spoke with the agent that actually caught that this was the wrong policy for me and his company is also launching their own investigation into the matter and they expect that the agent from their company that initially started the policy will have a lot of answering to do and disciplnary actions are going to be taken
A different agent 'caught' it than sold it to you is that right? Sound's to me like you have a mis informed agent on your hands...that should be investigated, in the meanwhile, you do have your sr22? or has someone also recended that from the state, which will cause you a whole new set of problems...Posted: Thu Aug 28, 2008 07:21 pm Post Subject: This name non-owner policy situation is driving me crazy!
Sorry, I shouldn't have used so many pronouns. When I say "they" I do mean the insurance company.
Here are the events that led up to me finding out this policy is not "legit" (at least for me):
I was upset that the insurance company had lost my payment and didn't seem too worried about it. I called my agents' office to ask them if it was possible for the agents to find me a different insurance company as I was not satisfied with the insurance company they had put me through. My call was taken by an agent other than the agent that originally gave me this policy. When the "new" agent was looking back at my file with them he noticed that I had a name non-owner policy and informed me that I couldn't actually have this policy due to me living w/my boyfriend who owns 3 vehicles @ this address. The "new" agent knew the info about my boyfriend because it was right there in my file. From there, I had to speak w/his supervisor, then spoke to a rep. at the actual insurance company, who verified w/her supervisor that I couldn't have a policy like this (at which point I told them to cancel the policy all together, but they reinstated it when the insurance company "found" the missing pmnt.), from there, I left a voicemail for the supervisor's supervisor (whom I still have not heard back from), then I contacted the Ohio Division of Insurance and explained the situation. The rep. there confirmed what the "new" agent told me, and ordered a complaint packet to be sent out to me.
I contacted the Ohio Division of Insurance again today, because I had a couple of questions about the process of the complaint to be filed.
I also contacted the "new" agent to find out the name of the "original" agent that gave me the policy (I was directed to do this by the Division of Insurance). So,this leads to where I left off in my post from earlier today.

Non-responsive reply.
Certain words simply make me laugh for no reason. :D
Pronouns?
Is a Pro-noun a professional... person, place or thing? :P
Sorry, that is probably funny only to me and I have no useful information to add to this thread.
Edit:
However, I made $$$0.2034 dollars for this post!!!

Well, I finally got the company to cancel the policy. They wouldn't even refund the amount for my renewal even though I had told them not to reinstate the policy. I did file the complaint with the Department of Insurance, and they have started their investigation. I will keep you posted as I hear more from the Dept.
