Hello everyone, my name is Angel. I am ew to this community. My husband just lost his job and I do not work because I stay home with our 3 children (6, 2, and 10 months).
As a result of my husband losing his job we had to let our car insurance lapse because he has not found a job yet. It was either that or the kids didnt get to eat.
Tonight my husband was in a car accident in missouri. It was not his fault it was the other persons fault because they ran a red light.
I am curious as to what our next steps are in getting his truck fixed since we didnt have insurance and the other person did.
Can someone please help me I have no clue what to even do or what we can do.

See my reply to your other post.
First, you know you should have insurance but I still feel your pain.
Not having insurance should not affect your situation as long as the other carrier does not place any liability against your husband.

Trouble is I sure do hope you have independent witnesses regarding the color of that light! MO is a pure comparative negl. state...and 'red light' 'green light' wrecks happen all the time...hopefully there are witnesses or a camera at the intersection....that captured the light...if not honey you got trouble...where is the damage to husbands vehicle vs the damage to the other vehicle? were both going straight or was someone turning? this will help some toward proving his point of view if there are no witnesses....MO of course also requires financial responsiblity...did you husband get a no proof of ins ticket at the scene did the other person get a ticket? Report the claim asap to the other persons carrier...I'm so sorry for you financial trouble, but honey, this no insurance thing just might've got you in deeper I sure hope not, borrow money from mom and dad, take in laundry do what you have to do but get some coverage on any vehicle you have on the road...

No coverage on your part has only made the situation complicated. At this juncture, your only option is the coverage of the other driver. If only you are right in saying that the other driver was at fault, you can expect to get the compensation for the damages done to your vehicle, otherwise, you may be out of luck, since you have no coverage.
Lori is right, you need to get the statement of the eyewitnesses recorded to prove the responsibility of the other driver. However, yours being uninsured doesn't alter the situation, you can still file the claim with the at-fault driver's insurer. Good luck!!
Thanks,
Rupert

If the other party is at fault then you are entitled to the insurance and you can claim for your damages. If not then you are in big trouble I think

certainly i do agree with you
if you dont have any and the other party is at fault then you're
certainly entitled to get the insurance
