I was hit be turning on a green arrow by a truck that ran a red light and t-boned my driver side month old Toyota Corolla.
I had sever bruising and tissue damage to my abdomen, left breast, chest, left side of my face, and my forearms-which I have pictures to prove. My vertebrae on my neck was also found to have a backwards curve when I began treatment, so the accident has made injury to that area and my shoulder area a lot more difficult to heal as quickly as most people. When I went to the doctor immediately following the accident, I was given medication and told it may take 3-6 months for this type of bruising and tissue damage to heal properly...she couldn't help me with the vertebrae issue and recommended me to seek treatment with a chiropractor/physical therapist...which I did. At the time, I started to get physically trained for a tour that I am going on(I'm a Christian Singer)--which I do once a year, and I was working full time 4 days a week 10 hrs a day at an office. I wasn't able to take off work because I had very little vacation or sick days, and my office works on a tally system....if you miss work--no matter what the reason, you get strikes against you...too many and you can be fired! I live in TN--a privilege to work state... I have been doing treatment with my chiropractor/therpaise for 3 months so far (and it is certainly helping), and won't be done for another 2 months or more. In order for me to go get treatment, I have to make up hours by coming in on my days off or use my sick or vacation time..obviously this sucks! On top of that, I'm way behind on schedule because I can't work out like I used to. The first 6 weeks of treatment I couldn't even power walk. It's extrememly painful on my left leg, lower back, shoulders and neck area. I can't do a lot of things I used to do before yet and it's frustrating and very depressing! I can't even practice baseball, softball, basketball with my kids anymore, intimate relations with my husband has also been hindered due to my neck and leg pain. I want to be really fair when it comes time for settlement, but I don't want to hire an attorney because I'm not trying to rob an insurance company , and my injuries aren't permanent..but my injuries have very much affected my quality of life!
I'm even terrified to turn in an intersection... and so is my 10 year old daughter who got in the accident (but she was not injured--thank God)!
Someone, please give me some advice on whats fair to ask for aside from the cost of medical bills...If you want to know that, they will approximately be about $3500. Time I've had to make up at work on my days off or work over time has been about 60hrs worth.
I've also had to cancel 3 concerts so far which total about $2,400.
What should I ask for pain and suffering to start with, and what should I not accept below?
Please help guys!

No one but you only can truly apprehend the worth of the pain and suffering. However, the following thread may give you some idea on how to negotiate a pain and suffering claim.

On the last note, some people would suggest that you should ask three times of the total medical bill towards the pains and sufferings to begin the negotiation.
Thanks,

The nature of the damages that you have sustained would also affect the worth of the pain and suffering claims. If the are injuries of serious nature the adjuster may offer 5 to 10 times of the medical bills as the compensation. You must receive compensation for,
*Medical expenses
*Loss of family time
*Loss of experience, vacation and opportunities
*Emotional damages, and so forth
However, you might not get more than the policy limit of the at-fault driver towards the claim. Groundnut
