Hi I was rear ended went to doctor for a couple of months so I had medical bills for about 5,000
After taking to lawyer and sending all my medical bills and lost time from work they only offer me 5,000. I ask for more and they said that was all they could do .
So I ended up accepting that sum
my insurance is asking me to pay them back for medical bills
Do I have to pay them back for medical bills?

Depends on the state. Some allow you to "double dip", some don't. If you used the services of an attorney, the attorney should be able to tell you this information... and really it should have been explained up front so you'd know what you were looking at.
From your post I'm guessing that you only spoke to an attorney and did not have them represent you.
Did you ever ask the adjuster why they could not pay more then your medical bills? Is there some state law that bars you from recovering more then this?
If nothing else you can tell your insurance company (health?) that your recovery was very little, did not compensate you fulling for your loss (part of your loss is pain and suffering in addition to the medical bills) so you'd like to see about paying them back a percentage of their bills (as _you_ were also only paid a percentage of your loss). Many times they will take $.50 on the dollar as settlement.
