Welcome, and glad you are ok with no serious injury..

No way for us to really tell you an amount...I'm assuming this is a soft tissue injury, I will say that you would expect your bills paid any loss of wages (that the doc said you can't work due to injury)...and then will depend how long you 'suffer' etc...and regions of the country are different, but I wouldn't be expecting a lot....(after the bills etc)..maybe 1-3k area...and that's a guess...of course they will owe you the actual cash value of your vehicle but that is separate from your injury.

Hi, damages caused to the car and bodily injuries both will be evaluated differently.

For the damaged car you will receive only the actual cash value on it as it was totaled.

the bodily injury claim settlement however, will compensate you for the followings

  • expenses of the medical assistance received after the accident
  • cost of the ambulance if you were shifted to the hospital in it.
  • loss of wages
  • compensation for pains and sufferings
  • prescriptions drugs

Document all your bills in a folder, this will help you to ascertain the total cost incurred during treatment. further, you have to negotiate with the adjuster for better compensation amount.

Prm, some people would advise to hire an attorney to negotiate with the insurer regarding the injury claims. When the car claim is straight forward, the claims involving injuries often demand expert's help. There is greater scope to negotiate regarding the losses due to pain and suffering.

Just remembering they will take (generally) a minium of one third of your settlement as their fee.
