RV Claim- Xfered 2 Total Loss - Damage Value not Declared!!!

So I get a call from the TOTAL LOSS DEPT of my insurance company because I filed a damage claim for the awning of my RV.

WTF?? I have a straight body, perfectly good engine, excellent condition and they want to call it a loss? They are f**king nuts. Especially since they don't even know the value of my claim.

I'm betting they want to give me some sh** book value when the street value far exceeds it. I've always asked them to insure it for a specific amount which they would not do because some vehicles are worth more than what a blue book states.

I bet they want to give me pennies on the dollar and take my perfectly good RV.

That is BS!!!

Any advice? Would be appreciated!!!

KC

Wait until you know what they are going to do and then go from there when you know for certain that what your guessing at is a fact.

Guest...first off ease up on the profanity, I had to throw some ** in there...seriously we don't play that on this board...

This cracks me up,

I'm betting they want to give me some sh** book value when the street value far exceeds it

We are talking about an RV right?

Has anyone from the insurance company inspected your RV? What (exactly) did you say when turning in the claim? I'll bet, 'storm and hail'....what year is the RV? If it's a certain age, or the ACV is a certain amount, and has went thru a bad storm, they likely automatically sent it to their Total loss dept., based on the inital report, and ACV, and knowing what the majority of the storm damage in the area was....does that mean it's automatically totaled? no...

Let us know and we'll do all we can to assist you....little advise, it's never a good idea to come out of the gate pissed, when you don't even know for sure what the issue is...talking like that to the adjuster, will get your claim transfered, and possibly our policy canceled...just hang on and let's see what they say..in the mean while if you want answer the questions I asked and we'll see if we can figure out what their thought process was (and the ACV)

Hi guest,

Was it really a damage caused by another vehicle?
I'm asking since I got clueless once you mentioned it to be of such a good condition.

Was it really a damage caused by hail and storm as mentioned by Lori? Or is it a something else?

What do you mean by 'they don't know the value of the claim'? They have called from the claim department, right?

Are you suggesting that the total loss department called you without even inspecting the damaged vehicle?
