I'm looking forward to cover my new sports car, but I'm not too sure of what benefits I should look for in a sports car policy. Any guesses?

If your car is a high performance one, you'd need to shop a lot before you pick your insurance. Make sure that the insurance rate doesn't fetch an amount that's equivalent to your car repayment.

You may obtain a number of discounts even for the sports cars. Insurers offer discounts on multiple policies, for pursuing safety courses etc. You may also obtain discounts on your policy renewals in case you've continued your coverage with the existing carrier.

Look for collectible car coverage if your car is a classic one. You might come across coverage worth the right premium for that particular sort of car. Car owners who possess modified cars would also look for such coverage. Roddick

If you're capable of paying for a high deductible out of pocket (whenever you need to file a claim), then you may obtain lower premiums. See, if you can manage a flexible payment plan. It would surely help you stay within your budget.

I guess our insurance carriers would consider certain cars as 'sports cars'. If a car follows a manual transmission I think it would be considered as sports car. Likewise, if there are two doors in a car it's more likely to be looked upon as a sports car.
