give us some list, so we can help you to review it... or maybe you can try all-life-insurance.org for more list about company insurance.

If you were rear-ended you are required to contact the other driver's auto insurer to file the claim. Also you may have to inform your insurer about the incident.

Normally, when you are rear ended its deemed to be the other driver's fault but then an adjuster would definitely look into the circumstances before recognizing the fault. Therefore, it would be at your favor to inform your insurer too in cased you need to file the claim with them.

There is no such requirement.

Would you please elucidate this comment? Many like me, who are in the process of educating themselves through this forum, would gain from your explanation.

I always thought that you are required to contact the at-fault driver's insurer at the earliest opportunity & the file the claim. Why do you think its not required?

Thanks,
Rupert

Probably the best way I can answer that is by asking what would make it a requirement? I can't really show that something does not exist.

Or I could give an example... you rear ended me. If I don't feel like collecting from your insurance company I don't have to and there is nothing that obligates me to contact them.

Oh! 'No', there certainly is no obligation to collect under the other driver's insurance, but people normally prefer so. One can fairly submit the claim with his own insurer or can drive with the dents, as desired.
