My vehicle was stolen while I was in Las Vegas. On the 32nd day my insurance adjuster made a verbal offer for the car. I accepted the offer and was told to sign off on the title and mail it to the insurance co. On the 33rd day my car was recovered. It had been used for five weeks in criminal activity. I immediately notified my insurance adjuster, He then told me that the offer for the car was no longer an option. Originally I was told that after 30 days, if my car was not recovered, I would be paid off. I still do not have my car. Is my insurance co. giving me the run around.

I guess could probably could hold them accountable for their offer to pay you the value of the vehicle as there was a verbal agreement. But I'm betting they would not honor it short of you filing suit. You can ask... and press the issue with someone higher up in the company to see what happens.

What are they suggesting now?
I'd second tcope that you may need to press the matter with higher authority to write-off the vehicle.

Hi KAB777,
I accepted the offer and was told to sign off on the title and mail it to the insurance co.
Did you sign it and mail it to your vehicle insurance co. ?
If you have not signed and mailed it till your car was recovered, then I suppose it would be tough to do it now. I guess it would be difficult for you to convince them once the car has been traced.
I still do not have my car.
Did you go through your policy clauses? I'm sure you should check out the clauses in your policy paper works to find out whether it's mentioned that you'd be paid-off after 30 days if your car is not recovered.

Read your policy some will say if recovered AFTER 30 days the vehicle owner has a choice of repair or ACV settlement, so (likely yours) does not...but doen't hurt to check maybe you got a newer adjuster, check under 'comprehensive' and within that it will address total theft of vehicle...let us know what it says.
