Do I need to take separate windshield coverage or it would be covered under my auto policy? Also, would filing windshield claim increase my premium?
I'm young and not aware of the ways auto insurance works. Hope you guys would be able to help me.
Thnx,
Jerry

Glass is covered under the comprehensive coverage of an auto policy. So you would need to have this coverage. Glass claims almost never increase rates.

Jerry, what state are you in? That could make a difference.
T...some states have an 'odd' windshield coverage that is separate from comp...i dont' understand it well myself, i think that PA has this...I'll try and do some checking...

I don't know if it does yet Jerry, I'll do some checking.

I don't see any break out coverage for w/s Jerry...so if you elect to have comprehensive coverage, glass is a peril under that coverage...and as T had mentioned and I concur, I've never seen a rate up for a glass claim.
