I don't think there's any other type of insurance that is more universally agreed upon as being valuable than disability insurance.

LIFEAGENT........can you 'inform' me, please?.........I'm not an 'Insurance expert', but, I would like to know........when you get Life Insurance ( Whole or Term) do you AUTOMATICALLY get Disability Insurance? Do you have to ask for it 'seperate' from 'regular' Insurance? I'm just trying to look into a good, affordable Life Insurance policy for my son and I. I've had alot of good advice, from others, on this forum. Just trying to get other Experts' perspective. Thanks.

No, it is not automatically added. It is a rider, that you have to pay extra for. But I highly recommend this rider.

There are stand alone D.I. policies also. That do not have life insurance attached to it.

If you tell us which state you are in, we can find a local agent to call and help you.

Thanks.......I appriciate the reply. I guess you just 'add' it on to your policy. Can you 'add' it on to ANY ( Life, Health, etc.), or does it have to be a certain one? Hope ya understand my question here.

You can add it to most term policies and most U.L. polices. I don't see many whole life policies that have the D.I. Option. Not all life insurance companies have this option. You will have to ask your insurance agent, when you are buying a policy, which riders or options that you have.

You can not add it to a health insurance policy.

Thank you for posting somitheng so important! I have known people throughout my life with all sorts of different dissablities and have seen how people react to different things, I think education can help keep people from re/acting differently around folks with disablities.
