Friendship has evolved with the passage of time. Ask yourself. Don’t you miss the time period when friendship involved regular face-to-face interactions? Buddies used to mean real people – those people with whom you have grown up and can share your thoughts. Nowadays, most of the friends are mere acquaintances. The definition has changed for ‘friends’. Not that we haven’t got any real friends. However, think twice - How many of your so-called friends will jump in to be with you when you’re in need?
Social networking can be held responsible for bringing in the change. You meet a people in a party or at office or through common friends or have mutual friends on the site – and the next day, you count them as friends. The friend list extends and so does your network.
November 17, the National Unfriend Day or NUD is popularized by talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. 2012 is the third year that NUD is going to be celebrated. It’s the day when you’re actually encouraged to evaluate the bonds of friendship that you share with your acquaintances. It’s time to ‘unfriend’ those who are no more than mere acquaintances.

What makes you click the ‘unfriend’ button?
Everyone has their own likes and dislikes. You’ll evidently have your own criterion for those you consider friends. Ask yourself the following questions when you consider deleting someone from your Facebook friend list: 1. Do you know them only from their profile picture? 2. Do their status updates annoy you? 3. Do they poke their nose into your personal life too often, especially if you don’t want them to? 4. Do they tag you to lots of quotations and pictures? 5. Do they post vague status updates? 6. Do you only know them merely through text and messages on Facebook? Apparently, not everyone on your Facebook friend list can be your friend. Nevertheless, the National Unfriend Day is a fad. You obviously don’t need a special day to remove someone from your friend list.Blog Category
