We have a Contractors All Risk Insurance in effect which covers third party liability as well.

The Technical Services Agreement with an International Hotel Chain stipulates a Comprehensive or Comemrcial General Liability insurance covering:
1) Premises and Operations Liability
2) Independent Contractors Liability
3) Products and Completed Operations Liability
4) Contractual Liability covering owners' indemnity obligations
5) Additional Insureds- Employees
6) Broad form Property Damage Liability, including completed operatioons,
7) Blanket X, C and U coverage
8) Severability of Interests provision.

Please advice whether Comprehensive or Comemrcial General Liability insurance nned to be purchased notwithstanding the fact that we have thrid party liability covered under CAR.

Thanks in Advance.

Regards

Siddique

Dear Siddique,

Third party liability as covered under CAR Policy covers legal liabilities arising out of any accidents affecting third parties (which do not belong to either of Principal and Contractors), during project period and extended maintenance period (if opted for). The risk covered under TPL section of CAR policy is lesser than what is offered under a CGL Policy.

I would be in a position to assist you better, if you can discuss your business interest in detail with me like the capacity in which you are involved in the project (as Contractor, subcontactor), Nature of your business and most importantly your location (is it in India or some other country).

Regards
