HELLO, THIS IS A WEIRD ONE...I was working as an offshore commercial diver in 1981. I was injured with a CNS injury that left me a tri pelagic, both legs and my right arm and right eye. THe platform was secured to the floor and the injury was covered under the Harbors workers claim. The Insurance company paid for my medical repairs, my retraining in the computer field and i went back to work. `i was left with the typical medical problems with spinal cord injuries. I need a long leg brace and medications.

Data/hack insurance

I manage a data farm running 30 servers linked to at least 90 stations. Our primary clients are banks and airliners. We have all the basic forms of insurance in place to mitigate our risks. Something has been bothering me for a while. After the HBGary Federal incident I started asking my employees to regularly back up the data to a remote server in Nevada. What worries me is that storing data on a central server is like putting all your eggs in a single basket. It just doesn’t feel right. Is there any sort of insurance instrument to cover for data losses, data breaches, hack attacks, etc.?

What kind of insure policy or policies do I need to cover my business? I run a high frequency electronic equipment manufacturing company with about 40 employees. We primarily deal with the US military.

Garage insurance required separately?

I run a repair shop for boats. Unlike most repair businesses, operations obviously can’t be carried out from a regular body shop. I have a boat garage, which is basically a section of the marina with a roof overhead. I have been asking around for a while now and people tell me that I’ll specifically require ‘garage insurance’ to cover my risks. Is this true? I always thought P&C insurance was enough to cover my business.

breaking a business up into 2 companies to lower liability?

Anyone heard of taking a company, breaking it into two separate corporations in order to lower the amount of income being generated by each company, and then having liability only on the one, which they pay alot less for because they're able to break up the sales? Seems stupid because you're going to have alot of other potential risks. So you can save a little bit of money, really in the scheme of things, it is not so much money!

Holiday season

Hi, I am curious what other people do, especially other business insurance agents, over holiday season for clients. Do you get gifts for good clients? Send tickets or gift cards or no? Just holiday greeting cards?
