Please show me an example of how to write a demand letter
for an insurance claim. Is there an easy way to push a claim
nearer to a settlement?

My friend who stays in NJ had an accident and is suffering from whiplash injuries. I had a talk with him the other day and he told how his car got rear-ended. He didn't need to file any claim ever before this incident. He could only ask me whether I know how to write a demand letter. Does it differ from state to state?

No I wouldn't think there would be any difference from state to state in a demand letter.

A demand letter from a person other then an attorney can be very simple. It might also include all supporting documentation such as medical bills if the adjuster does not already have them. Otherwise it should state what happen in the accident, give a brief outline of what the person's injuries were, what hardships they have gone through and other information surrounding their injuries. It should also of course include a demand amount. A dollar amount the person is willing to settle for.
There is no required information in the letter... it's just a written demand of settlement.

Thanks everyone.

Does the claimant need to provide any explanation of this demand amount?
