Thats a kind of scary thought. I think we are just all assuming it is an auto settlement. Thats the way I took it anyway...hmmm..selling a kidney on e-bay..someday we may actually see this happen.

Mark has hit it right, we have assumed a lot in replying to the OP rather than asking the facts directly to him. Its, however, true that if its about insurance claim then the insurance company should settle the matter within thirty business days, but if we take Mark's idea into consideration, then, who knows? :?

Thirty days seems really reasonable. I imagine it would have to take that long since there is probaly a lot more to it than simply sending the check.

Unless the person buying the kidney is trying to set up financing through AIG. That might take a little longer :?

Thats true. What happens in a case like that now that you mention it. Say someone had a lawsuit pending against a company in finacial distress or even finacial ruin. Does the insurance company still have to settle claims if they are going under or already drowned?
