Here's the deal. I completed all paperwork for health insurance. My agent took it back to the office and before he put it in the system I called him and told him don't put it through, I have another quote that looked better and I'm going to go with the other company. He sounded a little upset but still said "ok, I understand." Two weeks later I received insurance cards in the mail. I called to ask him about this he said that he had already put the paperwork through before I called him and he'd make sure that the automatic payments wouldn't come out of my account and that everything was being cancelled. Well, about a week or so later my account was debited for over $300 from the insurance company. I called my agent once again asking him why he did he tell me that everything was straightened out and it really wasn't? He got sooo angry he yelled at told me. I lied to him anyway because I told him I was going to buy the policy with him and didn't mention anyone else, that he should charge me for his time and gas for coming out to the house and he ended the call with a F*%# YOU! What can I do about this situation and the fact that my account was negatively affected big time because I didn't have the money in there for the insurance which in term gave me a negative balance and also over $150 in NSF charges. I'm still trying to catch up from this setback.

Start a new thread so everyone who's posted in this one does not get an email, post it in the health insurance forum, (I got it Todd -lori )and dispute the charge with your bank. Explain that you removed your authorization for debit prior to it being placed.Posted: Mon Apr 12, 2010 11:21 pm Post Subject:
Call your bank and make sure no more come out...then call your state's dept of insurance and file a complaint against this jerk

Sorry this happened to you. Most agents do not conduct business like this. You probably have a small claims court action against the agent for your losses,
But you should have contacted the insurance company directly when you received the benefit cards. Understand that the agent gets paid when your money is received by the insurance company. If he has bills to pay, he'll tell you anything to stall you and not delay his commission check from the insurer.
As has been said, this agent also deserves a formal complaint filed against him with your state's Dept of Insurance. Bad actors are dealt with swiftly.
