Hi,
I had a car accident in Septermber las year. I was taken by ambulance the day of the accident.. I wasnt bleeding but my knee hurt a lot and I could not walk. As as result from the colission the MRI results showed that I suffered MCL (knee) torn, knee BIG swallen and mild bone marrow edema. I also developed tendinitis. I've seen the knee specialist 5 times. and been on physical therapy for 2 and a half months twice a week. The hospital bills go over $12.000. Can anyone tell me a rough idea of what should I be starting on? I DONT want to bleed NO ONE only to have back what I deserve. ITs hell not being able to walk for more that 2 hours or having ice packs three times a day! or at work where I coudlnt perform my duties as a little kids teacher.
thank you

Obviously, the at fault party is responsible for your hospital and related medical expenses, as well as any lost wages. If your own medical insurance has paid the bills, then any money you recover from the at fault party will have to first be used to reimburse your medical insurance company.
If you are asking about "PAIN AND SUFFERING" (general) monetary damages, no one here can answer that question for you. You can put any price tag on that claim you want. What you want and what you get will probably be two very different things.
If you don't get an offer you like, you can continue to negotiate. If they stop negotiating at any point, then your only other recourse is to sue the at fault party for the amount you want. That will probably require a lawyer to represent you in court, and that will cost you 30%-40% off the top of any award/judgment/settlement you obtain. You could end up with less than they offer you without an attorney.
