I am insured under my employer and planning to hop jobs. But I’m pregnant and I am afraid the other company health insurance might not cover me for my pregnancy. This worry is preventing me to decide on my career options. Anyone please advice.

Generally under HIPPA, pregnancy shouldn’t be taken for a pre-existing condition during job change. Since you are already under a group health insurance, it shouldn’t be difficult for you to go under your new employer’s health plan.
But it’s good to keep in mind that health plans may vary from employer to employer. So, check the coverage specifics of your new employer insurance, to know whether you are getting maternity and pregnancy coverage or not.

HIPAA law does NOT allow pregnancy to be considered a pre-existing condition under any circumstances assuming creditable coverage is in play.

Can I get a health insurance to cover my pregnancy under HIPPA laws, even if I am unemployed?

Is there anything for women and child care for an unemployed pregnant woman. I don't have any health insurance plan now after I quit my job.

You may look out for WIC (Women, Infants, and Children), which is special supplemental nutrition program sponsored by the government for low-income women, infants, and children under the age of five. This program provides referrals to health care during pregnancy, information on healthy eating and nutritious foods to supplement pregnant women and children's diets and other social services to participants at no charge.
Child Welfare Agencies in you state, can also help you out with pregnancy and parenting related issues.

To Becky001:
You can’t get an individual health insurance now that will cover your pregnancy unless you can qualify for a guaranteed issue HIPAA eligible health insurance plan.
You may try to get covered under Medicaid, and if you are not eligible for Medicaid then contact your Local Department of Health. Many local health departments have low cost pre-natal programs and offer complete maternity services at a reduced fee depending on your family income.
You may also seek the help of Catholic Charities or Lutheran Social Services. Which also offer support, if you are pregnant with no insurance, including prenatal services at reduced costs.

To Becky001:
There are 3 options to help you get coverage for your pregnancy:
1. Your State's Medicaid office has zero-cost programs, for women with low income.
2. WIC or other state government programs for moderate income women -- in the state of California we have the Aid for Infants and Mother program (AIM) which provides health insurance for women that earn too much to qualify for medicaid.
3. The Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan - will accept you into the health insurance plan if you are pregnant. The requirement is that you have been without health insurance for 6 months.
Stay away from "discount" maternity plans. They're junk!

Unfortunately, this plan is NOT CHEAP! It is often more costly than private health insurance, even if rated substandard. But most individual health insurance does not cover maternity, even when it's not a preexisting condition.

Excellent advice!
