I’m 49, unmarried, I don’t have children and my health condition is average. I’m planning on relocating to another state and looking for a job there. How long will my current insurance company cover me before I have to start paying for my medical needs myself? Can my health coverage be transferred? I have never been in such a situation before. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Is your health insurance individually owned or is it employee sponsored group benefit? If you are moving to another state, look up insurance companies in that state and find the one which is affordable and lets you have access to the same kind of benefits your current health insurance policy provides you with. This sometimes helps in eliminating the waiting period most health insurance companies impose on new policy holders or transferees. Be up front about any pre-existing health conditions that you might have.

hi,
Health Insurance can't be transferred, they should get the new one, looking which is better for you with existing benefits of previous policy.
