Employer health insurance for short term employment

Hi all, I was hired for a short term job (~ 5 months). I was told that if I do a good job and there is opening within the company by the time my employment is over, I could consider for another position within company.
My hourly wage is $25, which is $4000 per month before tax. The employer insurance offered are HMO ($176.93 per month) and PPO ($229.64 per month), dental ($15.86), and life insurance ($5.60). Consider that the length of employment is only about 5 months, and that I am a healthy, single 24 yr., I am not sure if I should get these insurance. If you think I should, which ones should I get? Thanks

No one here can answer that question for you. As a temporary employee, you are probably not even eligible to enroll in any of those plans today.

I can say this: to anyone in America whose employer offers health insurance and other benefits, if you don't take advantage of those benefits (assuming you have no other options, such as similar benefits through a spouse's employment), you're being foolish. Even a healthy 24-year old person can break an arm or a leg, have a heart attack, need gall bladder surgery, the list is endless. Having insurance to cover those losses is always preferable to using your own cash, unless you have unlimited amounts of cash.
