My father in law was in a nursing home in Florida for about a year until his death last month. He had a small IRA which paid him a modest amount every month. The monthly payment was paid to the nursing home along with his Social Security monthly payment. Medicaid paid for the balance of his nursing home costs. My wife and her brother are the beneficiaires of his IRA account.
Can they receive the proceeds of his IRA account...-OR- are the proceeds subject to a Medicaid lien ? Many thanks.

The IRA is protected for the beneficiary. The proceeds were subject to the Medicaid spenddown test only as your father-in-law received them from the account.
