Will my husband's insurance cover my previous hospital bill?

I have a hospital bill from last year when I didn’t have any health policy. The hospital immediately sent it to collection. I had to get some assistance from a third party company to hold payments for a while since I could not afford those at that time. I got married soon after and my husband has always had insurance. Would his insurance cover my hospital bills? I’m not sure if it would do. Please no rude opinionated answers.

Oh yes insurance companies do that all the time - pay for claims they didn't cover. It's how they got to be one of the largest industries in the world...

The answer is NO! Your husband’s insurance won’t cover your hospital bills that were accrued before your wedding since you yourself said that you weren’t insured at that time. Don’t try to commit an insurance fraud by telling the carrier that you were married and insured at that time.

Contrary to what you requested, you received two rude and opinionated answers.

The simple answer is NO, you cannot have your medical expenses prior to your marriage paid for by your husband's health insurance. You were not covered under that policy at that time. You simply have to negotiate a repayment plan with the service provider(s).
