I’m 19 years old and a full time student in college. I just moved out of my parents’ home a month back and don’t have health insurance. I’m in desperate need to consult a Gynecologist for menstruation problems. I tried applying for Medicaid but on the application there said that I couldn’t move further as I wasn’t pregnant or have children. I just need an affordable healthcare plan asap. Any suggestion?

If you are really desperate, then you should immediately visit a Gyno and pay the doctor on your own and not with any insurance. You have to do that anyway even if you get insurance now. If you get a policy now, it’ll provide coverage against medical issues that you’ll face from now onwards and not for any problem you are already having.
Some of your options might be Kaiser, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, etc. However, none of these will cover for problems you are already having.

If your parents have health insurance -- either group or individual -- you must be allowed to remain on the plan, whether you live at home or not, until you turn age 26. If you/your parents were unaware of this provision, courtesy of Obamacare, you should be able to be reinstated on your parent's policy.
