Which is the best way to go and get a dental insurance policy? I’ve never had any and where I’m working at this moment, don’t offer such things. I need some root canals done immediately and wisdom teeth out. I’ve done some research on my own but so far have got nothing. Please help.

This is not going to be covered by any legitimate dental insurance plan. Why not? Because it is a preexisting condition, and the language of the policy will exclude such things for 6 months or longer.

How do you locate legitimate dental insurance? Talk to a local insurance agent or broker.

Don't become a victim of the dreaded "dental discount plans" -- these "plans" charge you money and give you a list of dentists who might agree to discount their services if you pay in full in cash at the time of service. What's the problem with that? You can get the same thing just by asking the dentist and without paying someone else for a list of dentists which may or may not be accurate.

If I were in your place, I would not have run after insurance to get the root canals done and wisdom teeth out as it would cost me more.

In the first place, if I obtain insurance, I need to pay for the insurance policy. In the second place, I’ll also have to pay for the root canals and wisdom tooth extraction. If the insurance refuses to cover for the expenses, my total cost would be more. Usually, insurance doesn’t cover more than half of the cost of any major restorative work, like root canals. Also it doesn’t cover for issues you already had before getting insurance.

This statement makes absolutely no sense.

How profound! Imagine that a person has to pay for insurance and also has to pay part of the cost of care. Such discrimination.
